Finsterwalder starts scheduled services to the Maghreb states

By the end of 2014 Finsterwalder did decide to set up scheduled services to North Africa. The start for the transports of industrial products and consumer goods to and from Tunisia will be at the beginning of February 2015, the regular traffic to Morocco is expected to be realized in the beginning of the 2nd half of 2015.

Consumer goods shipments to Libya and Algeria via Tunisia are also on the agenda as well as heavy and bulky shipments, transports of dangerous goods and the realization of transports in the area of project-logistics for all destinations wihtin Maghreb. The newly founded Maghreb department in Türkheim/Germany, staffed with Finsterwalder professionals with many years of experience in transports to non EU-countries, supported by a company of Finsterwalder group which is specialized in Customs services,  will build the basis for the efficient and customer-oriented delivery of our services. Target customers in in those countries already served through Finsterwalder in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, the Benelux countries, the Balkan states and Turkey will be found in the area of automotive, aviation, textiles and leather goods, electronics, toys and food (for both LTF and FTL shipments); for our groupage-freight-traffic, there is a wide range of clients in the sectors of retail, commerce and other industries.
 
To achieve the transit-times on the destination Tunisia ("just-in-time" required by the automotive, aerospace and contract processing industry), we will be having regular weekly departures of 4 ferries available, both southbound and northbound, between the European ports of Genoa and Livorno and the Tunisian ports of Rades and La Goulette. Alternative departures are available with 5 ferry departures per week in both directions via Marseille.

The headquarters of the local Tunisian partner of Finsterwalder is located in Rades, right next to the port. With over 20 years of experience in international freight forwarding, two bonded warehouses just in front of the harbour of Rades, it’s own fleet of trucks for mega- and standard-trailers, an air-cargo department at the International Airport Tunis-Carthage, our partner has the appropriate infrastructure for a successful completion of the required services in Tunisia.
