Finsterwalder opens the new logistics center in Halle/Saale

On 10.10.2014 the new logistics center was officially taken into service.

In the presence of Mr. Dr. Reiner Haseloff, Prime Minster of the State and Mr. Thomas Webel, Minister of Regional Development and Transport, Klaus Finsterwalder set the new material handling equipment in motion in the logistics complex.

In the event which saw a large participation, among them the Lord Mayor and many representatives from politics, business and the media, Dr. Michael Schädlich, Chairman of Economic Council of the district of Halle, congratulated in his official speech all parties concerned.

204 days have passed since the first excavators arrived, and until the opening 50.000 cubic meters of earth have been moved. The new construction is an important and positive political signal to the city of Halle as well as the logistics sector.

The logistics warehouse has 33.000 pallet places, which can be used in form of a high-bay storage and is regulated by the induction-led material handling equipment. The trucks can be loaded and unloaded concurrently at 30 ramps. The new hall space can be tempered, so that less temperature-sensitive goods can also be stored.

As fire safety applications have the highest priority within the new logistics center, the company Finsterwalder has installed a sprinkler and foam extinguishing system together with a firefighting water tank.

The first customers are already storing their goods in the new logistics center.
Regarding the future Finsterwalder is expecting new interesting projects and a positive development in the logistics sector for Central Germany.
