Our family of logistics is keeping its fingers crossed!

Today, we’d like to introduce our trainee Moritz – and for a very special reason: he’s been invited to the selection training camp of the U22 national football team in Singapore! 🙌

Moritz is in his first year of training to become a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk at Finsterwalder – and he manages to balance his vocational training and competitive sports with impressive dedication. 💪

We’re proud to support him on this journey and, of course, as a #familyoflogistics, we’re all cheering him on! 👏

👉 In the interview, Moritz shares how he manages both commitments – and the big dream that drives him.

  • On Wednesday, you're flying to Singapore for the U22 national team selection training! How did you find out about the invitation, and what was your first reaction?
The coaches made the connection. I was totally surprised and thought it was just incredible!

  • How do you manage to combine your training and your sports career – that sounds like a packed schedule!
I train three times during the week and usually have a match on the weekend. Planning for sports four times a week is exhausting, but it's totally worth it! When you do what you love, everything is possible!

  • How does your work team react to your sporting achievements? Do you get support or colleagues cheering you on?
At first, everyone was surprised by the news, but now they’re genuinely proud. There was a lot of exchange about it, and I’ve received full support from the whole team – they’re really rooting for me!

  • What has been your biggest sports highlight so far – and what goal are you aiming for in the coming years?
Getting the chance to take part in this selection training has been my biggest goal so far. Now, I’m hoping to be selected for the national team. The selection process takes place as part of one of the largest tournaments in Southeast Asia – the AFG Tournament.

  • What parallels do you see between life as an athlete and your vocational training?
Discipline – it’s essential in both work and sport.

  • How does your training company support your sports career – for example, when it comes to taking time off for the selection training?
An official invitation from the Singapore national team was also sent directly to Finsterwalder. I’m being given time off specifically for this opportunity – and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

  • You're originally from Singapore – what made you decide to pursue vocational training in Germany?
I spent most of my life in Singapore. To receive solid vocational training, I decided to do it in Germany.

  • Why did you choose a career in logistics?
The transport and logistics industry is growing rapidly – especially towards Asia. I see a lot of career opportunities there in the future.

  • What would you say to other young people who also want to juggle vocational training and competitive sports?
Never give up! If you really want something, discipline makes anything possible. Keep your eyes on the goal.

Good luck, dear Moritz!
