Finsterwalder stays on the ball

The years of low birth rates are threatening to leave more than just football benches empty – and for the long term. There is also an imminent lack of logistics specialists. Which is why Finsterwalder Transport & Logistik GmbH, in the context of a sharp image campaign, is presenting itself as an apprenticing company while sponsoring the local football club.

In September 23 young people began their professional careers at Finsterwalder's headquarters in Türkheim and its subsidiaries in Marl (Ruhr area) and Halle/Saale as apprentices in five different professions: There are 19 new forwarding and logistics services management assistants, 11 professional drivers, 23 warehouse operators, five mechatronics technicians for commercial vehicles, two office administrators and two IT specialists. The company employs a total of 62 apprentices. In order to continue along this path, the company has launched an image campaign with the objective of securing tomorrow's specialists even today. At the job centre, the company provides young people seeking training with comprehensive information about all available types of apprenticeships. Additionally, Finsterwalder is increasing its recognition as an apprenticing company by sponsoring the youth teams of the local football club, JFG Wertachtal. In the coming season, the team players will be wearing blue and white shirts displaying the company logo and an emblem for either transport, logistics, warehouse logistics or railport. Mobile advertising banners on the sidelines with such slogans as "Why wait?" or "My hobby is my job" are meant to motivate the young people to take up commercial or technical training with Finsterwalder or its in-house workshop, Truckservice A96.
