The owner-run Finsterwalder Transport & Logistik GmbH based in Türkheim (Swabia) and its subsidiaries in Halle/Saale and Marl in the Ruhr area are expanding their Europe-wide network by two more locations. The company has acquired the two Penske Logistics Europe subsidiaries in Venlo (Netherlands) and Tartu (Estonia). Penske Logistics agreed to sell the two transport locations to Finsterwalder as it is refocusing its European business strategy. Penske is now focusing on (3PL/4PL) transportation management, warehousing and supply chain management services in Europe. Penske Logistics continues to operate its European headquarters in Roosendaal, The Netherlands. Finsterwalder’s Europe-wide transport capacities have expanded with the acquisition. The takeover of the transportation planning and total fleet of around 60 vehicles strengthens Finsterwalder’s presence with its focus on European transport. “We continue to expand and through these new capacities we can secure a balanced mix of our own and third-party vehicles in the part load and full load department, particularly in the Benelux area, France and Germany as well as central and Eastern Europe”, explains Klaus Finsterwalder, managing partner at Finsterwalder Transport & Logistik GmbH.
