Finsterwalder: In step with the times

For a better climate, we are consistently seeking new ways and approaches to sustainably achieve the ambitious climate protection targets.
The presentation of our pilot project "44-ton trucks in shuttle traffic" took place on March 10th 2023 in Halle. Kathrin Tarricone (FDP) and Dr. Falko Grube (SPD), members of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament and on the Committee for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs, and Reinhard Schröter, Deputy General Manager of the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce were invited.
In a radius of 50 km around the industrial regions of Schkopau and Leuna, the increase of the permissible payload in road traffic to a total of 44 tons shall be tested. In this context the interactions on traffic load, traffic safety, road pollution and associated environmental effects shall be determined.
Wolf-Peter Peter, Managing Director of Finsterwalder Transport und Logistik GmbH, Company Spokesman Sven Köcke and Logistics Manager Thomas Brunner emphasized the need to actively contribute to climate protection with available equipment and optimized load planning.
"With this pilot project we want to contribute to making freight transport in Saxony-Anhalt more sustainable and efficient and to preventively counteract bottlenecks in the logistics sector," said Mr. Köcke, Press Spokesman for the Finsterwalder Group.
Ms. Tarricone added, "The positive effects on the climate are just as important as the relief in the area of skilled workers."
